On June 9th, I had the pleasure of hosting a group of orthopaedic surgeons from Indonesia at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in Bologna as part of an international clinical immersion program focused on the MaioRegen Biojoint System and contemporary knee preservation surgery.

The visit brought together specialists with a shared interest in meniscal preservation and biological approaches to joint care. Beyond the clinical setting, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss current challenges in knee surgery, emerging concepts in regenerative orthopaedics, and the future directions of joint-preserving treatments. Particularly rewarding was the opportunity to exchange perspectives with colleagues representing the Indonesian Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy (IOSSMA) and the Indonesian Hip and Knee Society (IHKS). Scientific collaboration and international dialogue remain essential drivers of innovation, helping bridge different experiences and healthcare systems while promoting the dissemination of evidence-based practice.

Educational initiatives such as these play an important role in advancing orthopaedic knowledge beyond national boundaries, fostering the dissemination of surgical expertise and encouraging the development of shared, evidence-based approaches to patient care.
